Coast to Coast Walk West

  • Walk England’s Coast to Coast West from St Bees to Kirkby Stephen
  • Journey among dramatic upland scenery of the Lake District
  • Pass through some of England’s classic villages, such as Grasmere
  • Enjoy wonderful camaraderie between fellow ‘coast to coasters’
  • Observe some of Britain's rare wildlife, including red squirrels and otters
This western section of the famous Coast to Coast takes you over the Lake District National Park mountains and alongside the lake shores. Walk from St Bees on the Irish Sea, to the pretty market town of Kirby Stephen on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The Coast to Coash path was created by Alfred Wainwright in the 1970s and is certainly one of the World’s finest long-distance paths. This western section is perfect if you have just one-week available. You will feel the embrace of the landscapes and the warm welcome of the charming B&B’s in the evenings on this superb walking holiday in the English Lake District.
