You can browse thousands of reviews on Macs Adventure's website, to give you a true picture and honest advice, directly from travellers and adventurous souls just like you. Sometimes, these stories are beautifully presented...
The West Highland Way elicits the most enthusiastic feedback of any trip, with walkers from around the world telling their unique tales. This poetic review really grabbed our attention, thank you John and Judy, and we hope we have phrased it correctly! Enjoy...
Us, together, we walk on, in locked step, on loch shores,
all I see is her, my heart runs wild, lost to wilderness, breath stolen again, that she has stolen, so many times.
Ninety two miles, up and down, and up and up, a clipped step, to high hopes.
Sprits distilled, the craic, open talk, kind hearts, nature revealing, never silent,
always moving, breeze-a-whispering, brooks-a-babbling, boat ferrying, lub-dubbing, scissor cutting, bow lapping, time keeping, old refrain, new meaning, full voice, sweet singing,
Celtic air, then and there, Ardlui and a Balvenie, double wood, twice blessed,
a glass, a perspective, to focus, human kindness. '... on the Bonnie Bonnie banks of Loch Lomond'.
Drymen to Rowardennan, to Inverarnan to Tyndrum, to Inveroran and Kingshouse, to Kinlochleven to Fort William,
Moorlands beckon, sentinel mountains, move the soul, countryside cedes, but never yields, to townscape, now patchwork, cobbled streets, passers-by, cobbled lives, step after step, going somewhere.
Local kids wasting time, workmen trudging hame, shoppers hither and tither, pubs spilling, damaged cargo, muttered ascents, ethanol Argo, old buckled men, leaning on canes.
Clouds shroud, night falls, time for a wee dram, with the one I love, a way along, the Highland Way, to life, to love, to being, in the moment. Slàinte.
