In a Nutshell
Distance: 32 miles
Grading: This itinerary is graded easy to moderate. The trails on Jersey are a combination of dirt and gravel tracks with some quiet country roads. There are 45 miles of ‘green lanes’ where the maximum speed for traffic is only 15mph and priority is given to walkers. The walks on Guernsey follow the quiet coastal trails and on Sark, you will only find a tractor or two with no other vehicles allowed. This makes this trip excellent for families, first-time walkers and solo walkers as you can take the trails at your own pace and enjoy exploring these beautiful islands. Some trails follow cliff top paths which offer excellent panoramic views but caution must be taken and good footwear is recommended.

Where is it?
The Channel Islands are a cluster of islands south of Britain in the English Channel. These islands have been British Territories since the 12th century but are independent states with their own government and laws. The group of islands are in fact closer to France than the UK with Jersey being approx. 80 miles from the UK and only 20 miles from France. Our itinerary takes you across three of the islands with each one offering a unique and distinctive experience. Taking the Condor ferry from Jersey across to Guernsey and then the smaller passenger ferry from Guernsey to Sark allows you time to appreciate these remarkable coastlines from another perspective.
Hidden coves all to yourself
Why do it?
I couldn’t think of any reasons not to do this trip! The islands are perfect for exploring at a relaxed pace and adding in extra nights will allow you time to explore the rich history that these islands hold. The Islands have a unique heritage and have fascinating castles, museums, war tunnels and stately homes to bring this history to life and it is this aspect to the trip that makes this more than just a simple coastal walking holiday. At the end of your day's adventure the relaxed island lifestyle will soon take hold; sitting out on a beachfront terrace watching the surfers catch the last wave and admiring the vibrant sun as it sets behind the glistening ocean. If you love food; you will love the Channel Islands - The islands may be small, but they are renowned for their local produce, especially fresh lobster and oysters from the clear waters, the creamy milk and butter from the farms and famous Jersey potatoes, eating out is always an experience from beach cafes to elegant restaurants.
