Walk of the Week: Amalfi Coastal Trails

Walk of the week is a trek into the good life, on the Amalfi Coast. We use this feature to give a little bit of the limelight to some of our favourite walking trails which we feel deserve some love and praise, and the Amalfi Coastal Trails deserve a LOT of praise! The glitterati have frequented the picturesque coastline of the Amalfi coast since Victorian times, and there is no better place to channel your inner Loren or Bogart as you relax with a glass of wine on a sun-drenched seaside terrace (sunglasses mandatory). This corner of Italy is also home to some spectacular walking trails which will leave you breathless (mostly due to the sheer spectacle of the views, but also in part due to some of the steeper climbs!).

In a Nutshell

  • Distance: 6 Days of walking between 4 km and 14km per day.
  • Grading: Moderate

Where Is It?

On the southern coastline of the Sorrentine Peninsula, Naples is the closest Airport.

Why Walk It?

The trails can be steep but offer truly remarkable views of the picture-postcard pastel-colored towns which hug the cliffs and beaches next to the azure sea. There is even a trail called the Footpath of the Gods. Need we say more? The rest stops along the trails are also some of the true highlights of the trips, with friendly local cafes offering deliciously refreshing wine and mouth-watering cuisine. You really do live the Dolce Vita on the Amalfi Coast.

Macs Adventure offers a selection of walking holiday itineraries on the Amalfi Coast, including the popular 7-night Amalfi Coastal Trails option to explore the hidden corners and highlights of the area, and an Amalfi In Style option for a walking holiday with a bit of extra good-living thrown in, staying in superior accommodations. Our top tip is to make sure you take an extra memory card for your camera. Every corner of this coastline is a photographer's dream, and social media addicts will love all the opportunities to make their entire network jealous! From the absolute classics to the slightly more obscure routes (and everything in between) we’ll introduce a new walking trail each week, so keep an eye out for the next walk of the week.
