Accessible Naples

The coast, mountains, and colorful villages of Amalfi are more accessible than you may think! Fly into Naples Airport, which is served by both international and low-cost carriers. Spend the day exploring the regional capital before heading to Sorrento by bus (1hr 15min). From Sorrento, you can take another bus to the small village of Amalfi (1hr 40min) or enjoy the ease of being transferred there by private transfer.

Excellent Walking

The Amalfi Coast is arguably one of the best places to go hiking in Italy with countless trail options, a sunny climate, varied scenery, and outstanding waymarking. Carved out by Greek settlers, the “Path of the Gods” is the best-known footpath on the coast. Starting in the village square in Bomerano the high but relatively flat route reaches Positano via Nocelle. The views of the Isle of Capri are simply outstanding. The greener and more secluded “Valle delle Ferriere” just north of Amalfi town is best known for its green waterfalls and wild orchids. This valley is now a nature reserve and offers a completely different walking experience. Our itineraries will allow you to sample different walks each day, to keep you guessing!

Regional Specialities

With fertile volcanic soils and a bountiful sea, it is safe to say that the Campania region is spoiled for choice when it comes to natural produce. You will find the most authentic Neapolitan pizza, freshly prepared, garlicky pasta, and fragrant espresso. The Italians know how to do food, and how to do it well!

Archaeological Treasures & Day Trips

Naples is one of the oldest cities in Europe and has plenty to discover from castles to Roman theatres and an ancient Greek aqueduct. Only about 9km east of the city you will find Mt Vesuvius, one of the world’s most carefully monitored volcanos. The views of the Bay of Naples are worth the climb. The ancient city of Pompeii was destroyed by an eruption and is a reminder of the forces that lie deep inside Mt Vesuvius. The ruins are one of Europe’s most compelling archaeological sites. Sorrento is a relatively short bus journey away (1hr10min) and reveals a vast contrast in scenery, having inspired many literary wonders such as Goethe and Dickens. It also lies on the train line to Pompeii and has a regular ferry connection to Naples and Capri.
